Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Rejuvenation Orange County

Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, is an exciting method of igniting your body’s own healing mechanism, using plasma from your own blood to grow new healthy cells. Platelets are rich in bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration.

PRP has been used for decades for wound and soft tissue healing by orthopedic surgeons, wound care physicians, and dentists. However, more recently, there has been a large amount of research and clinical evidence demonstrating PRP’s regenerative properties for cosmetic purposes, sexual health, and hair loss.

How is PRP performed?

Your Liquid Beauty provider will prepare the PRP injection by drawing a small amount of blood from a vein. The platelet rich plasma and growth factors will be isolated and concentrated by spinning the blood in a special centrifuge. Once extracted, the PRP can be applied or injected to the area of concern. It takes about 5 minutes to draw the blood and 5 minutes to centrifuge it.  Afterward, it takes between 15-20 minutes to apply the treatment; therefore, patients are usually done in under an hour.

PRP in aesthetic medicine

PRP is a great cosmetic injectable treatment for naturally rejuvenating the skin and repairing the signs of aging.  It can be used for the treatment of scars; the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles; enhancement of skin tone and texture; tightening of the skin and improvement in skin laxity; and overall new stimulation of new collagen production to help with volume loss. PRP can be used alone or in combination with microneedling or post laser treatments. In most cases, PRP is not meant to replace aesthetic procedures, but rather, to enhance results, improve outcomes, and promote quicker healing.

PRP for sexual health

Whether you’re a man experiencing erectile dysfunction or a woman suffering from discomfort or lack of arousal, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections can help. While aging changes are normal, they can prove a challenge when it comes to satisfying experiences in the bedroom. Women’s vaginas can narrow and shorten while the walls may become thinner and stiffer. Less lubrication can also be an issue. Men can experience erectile dysfunction and have trouble getting or keeping an erection. A number of different factors can cause these issues, from health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer to obesity and side effects of medications.

PRP for him

Treatment with platelet rich plasma can lead to firmer, stronger, and larger erections, especially in men who have had prostate and erectile dysfunction issues. It increases circulation within the penis for better health and improves sensation and pleasure. Combination therapy with Viagra and PRP can make treatment more effective.

PRP for her

PRP treatment can successfully heal and rejuvenate vaginal and clitoral tissue in women, especially those who face challenges from low sex drive, sexual arousal disorder, problems attaining orgasm, and/or pain
during intercourse.

In a nutshell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a preparation of platelets in concentrated blood plasma with regenerative growth factors used to stimulate healing. PRP has been used for decades for wound and soft tissue healing by orthopedic surgeons and wound care physicians. However, more recently, there has been a large amount of research and clinical evidence demonstrating PRP’s regenerative properties for the treatment of scars, minimizing pores, fine wrinkles, volume loss, hair loss, skin rejuvenation (wrinkles, fine lines, crepey skin texture), and sexual health.

The treatment of PRP involves a fraction of blood, collected or ‘drawn up’ from the individual patient into a syringe. The collected blood is then spun down in a special centrifuge to separate its components. The platelet rich plasma is then reinjected back into the patient into the area of concern.

Typically, a PRP treatment takes between 45-90 minutes depending on target area/clinical indication. This timeframe includes an additional 30 minutes for the blood to be drawn and spun in the centrifuge, and topical numbing to be applied.

Some mild discomfort may be felt while the PRP is being reinjected. The sensation typically felt is a burning or tingling sensation. This sensation only lasts a few seconds after the PRP is injected. We ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the entire PRP treatment and apply topical numbing cream and ice to aid any discomfort.

For most clinical indications, results can be seen as early as two weeks.

There is no downtime associated PRP injections. However, after your treatment, your skin may be red or swollen for up to 24 hours. Thus, there may be minimal social downtime. This is normal and to be expected.

The exact amount of treatments needed varies from patient to patient and treatment indication. Most treatment indications will need at least three treatments.

PRP used for aesthetic procedures are safe for most individuals. There are very few contraindications with PRP injections. The most common side effects associated with PRP injections are mild to moderate swelling and redness.
During your consultation, an assessment will be made to ensure you are the right candidate for PRP injections. Patients with certain health conditions are not a candidate for PRP injections. Patients who are pregnant are not candidates for PRP injections.
